Leadership
Leadership is at the core of my experience and person. I love watching my team succeed! I labor for and champion my team’s growth in professional skill, interpersonal relating and team unity. I measure my success by the success those around me. I believe in honesty, clear communication set in an environment of trust, respect and shared vision. Leaders must be humble, eager to listen and constantly learning.
Product Development
I believe in a process of design that has end-manufacturing in sight from the beginning. An unfortunate reality of design work are the many projects that never see the light of day. Whether it be unrealistic design, ideas that end up being out of the vendors wheelhouse or simply a lack of definition, too many projects end up in the graveyard of the sample room. My decades of experience in both design and manufacturing have helped me to develop efficiency in bringing design concepts all the way from ideation to factory execution that is on time and maintains the integrity of the original design intent.
Goals and Passions
There are few things more satisfying than seeing your products out in the real world, being put to good use. However, I have a growing passion and concern for the human and environmental impacts of product design and manufacturing. I have spent time volunteering in developing countries and these impacts have become an unescapable reality to me. It is imperative that we do what we can as individuals and companies to blaze a better trail for the future. Oftentimes the right path is the hardest. I have a deep respect for companies that have put that at the center of their mission inspite of real challenges. I would be excited to join a company that shares these goals.
